…and how that has become politicized. This isn’t directly political but it’s become political over the years. It measures how we pick our leaders, how we judge each other…how the media is manipulated in elections. So thus I feel it belongs here in this forum. What do we as Americans value, and view as strength? I venture to say we have lost some of our sense in this department and comments made in the press lately are like tips of ice bergs

Take a look at this. Carol, you’ll be happy to see that Lehrer’s NewsHour, while still liberal, is marked as the most centrist of the 20 programs studied. The results, however, are pretty clear… the major news media outlets are markedly left of the average American voter. ;) An interesting read, if a bit technical. Some of the results are surprising (The Drudge Report is liberal? Well, the articles it links to are :)).

Well David I am not the best person to ask this. I don’t watch national news, or CNN. The only regular TV news source I have is News Hour with Jim Lehrer and please dont’ try to tell me Jim is biased just cause he is on PBS. I mean in the presidential races recently Jim has been asked to moderate, and I believe agreed on by both sides since he *is* trusted. He is an honorable guy. I also read newsweek, which I don’t find bias. Ripped on Kerry, rip on Bush.

Aside from us (we obviously have biases, and now we’re media, too! (scary thought, I know)), where do you find the most offensive instances of media bias, and what do you think should be done about it? For that matter, should anything be done about it? What’s the problem with it? I could go on, but you get the picture. ![]()

Well, Carol, like you said, this is a tough issue. I don’t know if you’ll be surprised by what I have to say, but I’m pretty critical of the President’s plan here as well. Here are my thoughts:

It’s such a tough issue and we aren’t qualified to figure it out, but then again no one has done much better so let’s stab at it David:
As a self confessed liberal I admit even I was making a few jokes about the anti war rally this weekend.

I am posting the next topic:
Not that we are in any way shape or form military leaders, but what do you think should be done in Iraq at this point? Or at least who should be listened to?

Boy oh boy is it getting hard to find a Democrat who’s not fervidly anti-war nowadays…Â Well, here goes: (more…)
